"Inspirational"
For a change I will tell you story of a young man and his search for enlightenment and inspiration.
A young man that in search of more has recently taken to listening to and reading the word of life coach as Anthony Robbins and such teachers of business and leadership as Nick Forster, Peter Senge, Steven Covey and Michael Gerber.
But life is about balance and to this end we must also include our community and our spiritual awareness.
Having been raised in the ways of Christianity, he had like many in the west dabbled in Hinduism and Buddhism. To further help create that balance he added to his education, the messages of such rabbis as Deepak Chopra, Graham Sansom and of coarse the big one GOD.
His search more recently took him across the country to "Unleash the Power
Within" with the intent of developing further the tools he had become aware of
that would help him overcome his fears. The metaphor for this weekend made him a
FIREWALKER that's right over the coals and no burns. All very interesting and
very exciting.
It seems pretty obvious to him that the cosmic forces where all getting together to let him know exactly what it's all about for him.
Quite simply, for him, life must be even more about giving, and providing for others.
That's great it's not a bad message, he has always considered himself to be of a generous nature but lets face it, what we give is rarely ever enough, is it!
Here's the twist.
The very odd thing was that this particular young man need have looked no further than with his own immediate family for inspiration. For there was a woman who had for many years donated her blood. Not just blood to help one life but blood which contained a certain antibody that was needed to help other women carry their unborn children full term. Indeed her blood was not just helping one life but two or possibly more in the case of multiple births.
In fact one of the heads of department at the blood bank had asked him if he was related to this particular individual and upon divulging his relationship to her was told how special she was to them. Yet somehow he still only saw the irony, for this relative had been the same person who had told him all his life not to have children. Besides other relatives of his had also been regular blood donors but many give blood willingly and regularly , don't they? It seems not.
It doesn't end there you see as if this relative of his hadn't all ready given enough of herself she then without fuss or ceremony volunteered a kidney to an unknown recipient. The ramifications to the recipients life would be enormous for the donor well they leave the hospital and its all over six months later they have another visit to the specialist to see that all is well. After twelve months of tests physical and mental evaluations its over and then you get back on with your life short one kidney and six months to one year to get back to playing regular golf.
This is not an article written to seek attention for the cause of organ donation, although I for one have rethought my position. Nor is this meant for others to fuss and bother over one persons gift to another. It is a not publicity for the donor in any way as I know they will even be embarrassed even by such attention as this but I for one being that young man who looks elsewhere and within for inspiration need look no further than to my own mother.
Who knows?
My mother whom I love, respect and am immensely proud off.

As always Larry
